RUFC - Evans 'We Won't Get Carried Away'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says he thinks his players can get better.

Speaking to after the four-nil win away at Oxford last night, the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield, 'I've always said when you've got David Noble on the ball and I thought his and Michael O'Connor's work rate was sensational tonight.

'There`s not a lot of grass on that pitch but Lee Frecklington covered every blade that was on it.

'I thought the spine of the team was particularly strong. Arnason and Claude Davis were immense again and the midfield was great.

'Alex Revell works so hard and then there`s no respite for the opposition when they see Revell coming off and on comes Kayode Odejayi.

'You know we`re not going to get carried away. We`ve come here and won but we were disappointed not to win on Saturday.

'Chris Wilder said to me that he couldn't believe how hard our team had worked in the second half at four-nil up. But we just kept our shape, kept our discipline and its three more points on our journey and it`s a reward for the supporters who made the long trip to Southend and probably every one of them here tonight was there. There`s a lot of people had time off work and I will never forget what it takes for those fans to follow us around the country.`

You can't fault one player from last nights performance. But how Alex Revell worked last night and how much I really, really wanted him to get on the score sheet. He looked devastated when he was subbed. And Kari Arnason was so composed both on and off the ball.

Let's hope we can keep it up and play like that at the New York on Saturday.
