'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - New York Stadium To Get Royal Visit

Rotherham United's new ground The New York Stadium is to get a Royal Visitor.

HRH The Duke of Kent will officially open the stadium and unveil a memorial plaque on the morning of Tuesday, 12th March

Speaking to the Official Site Chairman Tony Stewart said, 'Receiving a visit from the Duke of Kent is a tremendous honour and one which everyone at Rotherham United is very excited about. The unveiling of the specially made plaque will provide the finishing touch to the New York Stadium.'

The Duke of Kent will receive a tour of the stadium and be introduced to local dignitaries such as Rotherham United's Honorary Ambassador Howard Webb. There will be activities at the stadium all day which local schools and community groups will take part in.

Mr Stewart carried on saying, 'A royal visit to this town is a special event; therefore this is an historic day not just for the football club, but also for the borough of Rotherham.'
