RUFC - The Remaining BIG Games

Just like last Saturday, once again this weekend sees us having the BIG game of Division Two!

Let's hope that the result is different this time though!

There will be lots of surprises between now and the end of the season where teams near the foot of the table take points from the teams near the top, because that's what happens in football, and that is one of the reasons why there's so many wealthy bookmakers these days because there's no certainties anymore!

The teams at the bottom of the table are desperate for points, for obvious reasons, and we've got three games left where AFC Wimbledon, Plymouth Argyle and Aldershot will all raise their game against us, so we'd better not count any chickens where these three are concerned!

These are the BIG games involving the teams fighting for automatic or play-off places!

Sat 23rd March
Rotherham United V Exeter City

Fri 29th March
Port Vale V Cheltenham

Mon 1st April
Cheltenham V Northampton Town
Gillingham V Rotherham United

Fri 5th April
Port Vale V Burton A

Sat 13th April
Cheltenham V Gillingham

Sat 20th April
Exeter City V Cheltenham
Port Vale V Northampton Town

Sat 27th April
Burton A. V Gillingham

Each of the seven clubs have got at least two BIG games remaining, so there's lots of points to be dropped in the weeks to come!

Cheltenham seem to 'hold the key' as they've got FOUR games left involving their other six rivals!

Gillingham and Port Vale have got THREE, with the other teams having TWO crucial games!

We seem to have almost guaranteed a play-off place at least now, because of the six point gap between 7th and 8th placed teams, (and that gap could become eight points if Northampton and ourselves win our respective games in hand!)

It's certainly getting to the nail biting stage of the season, that's for sure, but we wouldn't have it any other way, ..... would we ?

With the Millers still in the play-off positions and still having a good chance of automatic (or so we keep saying!) I keep looking at the table every ten minutes or so - and I know it's not going to change until the weekend again now! It's called being a football supporter I suppose!
