'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View From The Opposition - Wimbledon

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that the Millers dominated yesterday's game from start t finish.

Meanwhile, Wimbledon Manager Neal Ardley was bemoaning the error that cost the visitors to the New York Stadium a point.

Speaking to the Wimbledon Official Site after the Millers one-nil win, the Wombles Boss said, 'We knew it would be tough and they would come at us but I thought that, until the seventy-fifth minute, ours was a reasonably resilient performance. Then we didn't do what we'd talked about at half-time and we took the easier options and dropped deeper which cost us the corner. Then, at the corner, two players lost their markers and you can't afford to do that in this league. You have to defend set-pieces for ninety minutes, we didn't do that and were punished.

'It is disappointing because we put in a solid enough performance, without looking like we would win it, but we came away with nothing.'

To be fair the stats do show that it was quite an even match - with Wimbledon having forty-nine per cent of possession - but I think quite a lot of that possession was passing the ball back.
