RUFC - Evans 'Frecks Fantastic Professional'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans had nothing but praise for midfielder Lee Frecklington after his penalty put the Millers in front at Valley Parade last night.

With usual penalty taker Daniel Nardiello sidelined Frecks had no hesitation about stepping up to the spot when the referee blew for the penalty. In front of his own supporters, when the Millers really needed the win, he calmly slotted the ball into the net in a hope that he`d given his team the three points they desperately wanted to get them into that third automatic promotion slot.

'Lee Frecklington is such a fantastic professional,` Evans told Radio Sheffield, 'and his standards are so high. He has been man of the match numerous times this season.

'You can see his reaction when he sends the goalkeeper the wrong way and you can see the reaction from the team when they engulfed him.`

Frecks joined the Millers on an initial month`s loan from Peterborough in October which was extended and he eventually signed a two-and-a-half year deal in January.
He`s made thirty-two appearances and last night scored his eighth goal in his first full ninety minutes since contracting a virus at the end of March.
