'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View From The Opposition - Bradford City

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans acknowledged the fact that it was a 'big` three points for his Millers team on Tuesday night against Bradford City but also said that he wanted his players` feet firmly on the ground ahead of the game against Plymouth on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bantams Boss Phil Parkinson wasn`t impressed with referee Mr Haywood. Speaking to Bantams Player after the Millers` two-nil win at Valley Parade, Parkinson said about the penalty, 'I`m loathe to moan about refs but that decision was beyond belief. I thought it was bad at the time because I thought Revell had fouled Nelson but when I've seen it on the DVD how that is a penalty I will never know. I said to the ref that even if he didn't see it surely the linesman has seen Revell run into Nelson and caused the handball?

'It was always going to be a difficult game tonight. It was tight, they came four-five-one, they came strong against us and it was going to be a small margin that separated the teams and, unfortunately for myself and the lads, it`s a referee`s decision which is a contentious moment.`

Well, from where I was in the stands it looked like the Bradford player climbed all over Revs before practically playing basket ball with the ball - but hey, like Mr Parkinson, I might be a little biased.
