Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans has finally come down off the cloud he's been on since his skipper Johnny Mullins scored the first goal in Saturday's two-nil win over Aldershot that sent the Millers up into League One.

Speaking after a weekend of celebrations to MillersPlayer the Millers Boss said, 'It feels fantastic.

'To see the best part of eleven thousand Millers on the pitch at the end of the game and to see grown men hug strangers and kiss the grass, singing the songs and to see the town party all night well - it will be a good summer for the Millers fans and a good summer for the town of Rotherham. And the town needed it and thankfully we've been able to deliver it.'

Saying that the players will be back in for talks Steve said, 'Thanks to the Rotherham Borough Council we've got a civic reception on Wednesday and we'll have the open top bus and we'll go round the town and get up onto the balcony at the Town Hall which will be a wonderful experience. On Thursday the players will be back in for their individual meetings then they'll get a couple of days off and hopefully we'll be able to get away for a couple of days.

'Planning for next season has been under way for a while and I've met with the Board today and we've had a post mortem on this season and talked about objectives for next season. We are probably talking about fifteen or sixteen of the current squad still being with us next season and we know which individual targets we want but there will be a lot of work ahead to make that happen. We are ready to move forward and there should be a lot less of a roller-coaster next season.

Wanting to thank everyone the Gaffer carried on, 'Thank you to the Millers fans for making this a day of dreams for everyone. Thank you to the Chairman for giving us the opportunity to be in such a wonderful stadium that we have. And thank you to the whole town and let's look forward to League One next season.'
