RUFC - Evans Pleased To Get Skarz Signed Up

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans is pleased to have got defender Joe Skarz on a two year deal once his contract at Gigg Lane ends.

The twenty-three year old joined the Millers from Bury on loan in March and he's appeared in eight games since joining.

Speaking to MillersPlayer the Millers Boss said, 'Joe's been absolutely sensational since he joined us.

'He's the salt of the earth and a proper lad who wants to come in and work and improve. He's as hard as nails yet when you sit and have a chat with him he's as soft as putty.

'We've had some super left-backs this season. We tried to get Joe early in the season but it didn't happen but when the opportunity arose thankfully our Chairman sanctioned it.

'It's his second promotion from League Two and I fully expect him to play in the Championship and we have to make sure it's in the Championship with Rotherham United.'

Joe Skarz came into our team and just fitted in straight away - the first time I saw him play was at the New York against Wimbledon and if you didn't know you'd have thought he'd been playing there all season. Like the Manager I`m pleased he will still be with us next season.
