RUFC - Millers Get Award

Rotherham United have got an award!

The Millers have been awarded with The Football League Family Excellence Award for last season which is an award that recognises the outstanding experience clubs provide for young fans and families at their grounds.

Along with the Millers forty-six other clubs have also been given the award this year.

Speaking to the Official Football League Site, Football League Chairman Greg Clarke said, 'The Football League Family Excellence Award provides clubs with a benchmark in their efforts to attract families through their gates. It is hugely encouraging to see so many clubs receiving the accolade, demonstrating The Football League's commitment to securing the next generation of fans.`

The award is given for, among other things, greater use of family areas match day entertainment and family pricing.

I actually have my season ticket in the family stand although I can`t say there are that many children sit round us. Miller Bear comes over and talks to the children (and the adults) before the game and at half-time and there is also the infant/junior schools football games at half-time.

Family Club of the Year was awarded to Cardiff City while Plymouth Argyle received the League Two award.
