'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Well Done Millerettes!

Rotherham United have their own cheer-leading team who turn up through rain, snow and sun to help cheer the team on at every home game.

And, for the second year running, the Millerettes dedication has paid off when they were awarded the Best Cheerleaders in Football League Trophy!

The girls who perform before the game and at half-time (sometimes hindered rather than helped by Miller Bear and flying footballs) all belong to the June Fletcher Dance Academy which is based at Gleadless, Sheffield.

Speaking to the Official Site Ms Fletcher said, 'We are really proud of what we do and love doing it. The Millerettes have performed for the last three football seasons and have never missed a home match, no matter what the weather.'

Jamie Noble who is Head of Community at the New York Stadium said, 'I would like to congratulate the Millerettes for winning the award for the second year in a row. It is a fantastic achievement.'

I've often stood watching the Millerettes at the games and feeling really sorry for them in the freezing cold and the pouring rain.

Well done Ladies!
