Rotherham United have put their plans for their new training ground on hold until they have got the New York Stadium project fully up and running.

The new training ground, which is at Brinsworth, was bought two years ago with a view to developing it as an Academy standard base for all players from junior to senior level.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Advertiser Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas said, 'We are still involved in various projects at the New York Stadium and it`s more complicated than meets the eye. We are trying to develop land near the stadium and the rest of the lettable space inside so we haven`t the resources to throw ourselves into a new project at the moment. And in the short to medium term we want to make as much out of the training ground site as we can.`

Although saying that the club have a 'fantastic piece of land at Brinsworth Mr Douglas says that they will continue to train at the Roundwood site in Parkgate 'We are happy with the arrangements at Parkgate. We aren't the easiest tenants and we have ad our ups and downs but we have very accommodating landlords at Parkgate and a good relationship.`
