RUFC - Pen Pics - David Noble

David Noble

Midfielder David was born in Hitchin beginning his career at a trainee with Arsenal but his first senior appearance was while he was on loan with Watford. In 2003 he moved to West Ham but failed to push his way into the first team and moved on to non-league Boston United in 2004. He had a loan spell with Bristol City making a permanent move in January 2006 where he went on to make seventy-seven league appearance scoring seven goals, two against Rotherham in May 2007 which sent City into the Championship. In 2009 David had a loan spell with Yeovil Town and on being released by Bristol City he signed for Exeter City in January 2010.

David was released by Exeter City in May 2012 and joined the Millers in July becoming Steve Evans' tenth signing of the summer.

David had worked with Steve Evans at Boston and it was a chat with the Millers Boss that made the midfielder do a u-turn and put pen to paper for Rotherham instead of signing for the League One team he had lined up, saying he wanted success and he thought he would get that at the New York Stadium.

His league debut was in the first game at the New York Stadium against Burton Albion but then he spent almost three months out with an ankle injury. On his return he scored his first goal which was a consolation against Bristol Rovers in a three-one loss in January followed by another in the three-one win
against Northampton. Unfortunately his next game at Burton saw him get two yellows and an early bath.

This season David has scored three goals in his twenty-four appearances for the Millers
