RUFC - Millers Win Another On The Road

Ilkeston FC 0 Rotherham 4

Rotherham United won their second friendly in two days as they beat Northern Premier League Premier Division`s Ilkeston FC at the Manor Ground this evening by four goals to nil.

The Millers fielded a strong side and both Nicky Walker and Michael O`Connor had shots that went wide while Danny Hylton saw his shot deflected onto a post by the Robins 'keeper Scott Low. But the pressure paid off on twenty minutes when Michael Tidser sent Kieran Agard on his way with a great ball and the striker chipped the ball over Low and into the back of the net. The Millers never really looked back after that and Walker, O`Connor and Tidser had shots blocked or that went narrowly wide before half-time.

The second half started as the first had begun with the visitors having most of the possession and when the ball came over to Walker in the box he rose above everyone else and headed the ball into the back of the net to double the Millers lead. The third wasn`t far behind and it was a magnificent solo effort from midfielder Robert Milsom who intercepted a pass on the half-way line, left two defenders for dead and shot rounded the 'keeper and slotted the ball into the back of the net. Rotherham saw more chances go wide before Milsom turned provider when he put a deep cross into the box for Walker who hit the ball into the net to make it a deserved Millers victory.
