'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bungs...

It is reported in todays papers that the enquiry into bungs in professional football is to claim it`s first victim in the shape of agent Charles Collymore.

The evidence of Luton Town boss Mike Newell and Plymouth boss Ian Holloway are the main reason why these agents are now being found out and brought to book.

This kind of activity is according to some in the game to be rife and those who have not come into contact with it are few and far between. This is why in my opinion it should be as thorough as posible to route out as many of these people that would tarnish the image of the beautiful game.

I would not be surprised if more allegations of corruption were revealed in the lower reaches of the game even at our level.

Just as a footnote to this i read today that one agent Ian Elliott was given a warning due to him not lodging his contract with a former Rotherham United loanee Grant Leadbitter, makes you think doesn`t it.

All in all i praise the efforts of the likes of the Panorama programme to help clear up the game that i love and long may it continue.

I bet there's some agents quaking in their boots today. It needs stamping out. I applaud Messers Newell and Holloway.

I agree Mexbro, the corruption in the game is appalling. And what do you think about the situation at Upton Park? If I was a hammers fan I would be so p****d off right now. 3-2 to us sunday.
DMG
pity all agents can't be removed from football, they encourage their players to have as many clubs as possible so they get more cuts from transfer fee's, signing on fee's not to mention bungs its no wonder there isn't much loyalty left in the game
mvmiller
Frank Lampard has the right idea by saying players should pay the agent directly out of there own pocket

This bubng business is getting abit silly now, especially with the poor allegations that they have been aiming at a few teams and managers and agents !!!

I think that the teams most involved are: Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bolton, Portsmouth, Middlesborough and Newcastle.
