RUFC - Evans 'It Was A Good Performance'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans couldn't have been anything but impressed by the way his Millers team played this afternoon away at Stevenage.

Although I wouldn't go as far as saying Rotherham battered Stevenage this afternoon, I think the 'Boro will know they were lucky to come away with just a three-nil loss. From defending to scoring the Millers were head and shoulders above their League Two counterparts and, but for two good home 'keepers, the score could have been more.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the Millers Boss said, 'It was a good performance. But nothings changed in terms of league action because our performances have been good although the results haven`t shown that at times.

'We've got some top players in that dressing room and we are without two or three players here today. Michael O`Connor was touch and go up until this morning and I had to make a decision and maybe Lee Frecklington shouldn't have played because he`s been ill for the last couple of days.

'The players work very hard - they are tired every single morning - but as long as they keep working that hard they'll have that habit of winning football matches.

'We've had some big decisions to make this week. When we joined the club eighteen months ago there had to be a revolution and now it`s about evolution. And that`s now about picking the right players to strengthen us and we will be working on that and hope to get someone in soon. If we don`t it won`t be for the want of trying. Yes, we want to make signings but they have to be the right signings.`
