RUFC - Evans 'Davis Was Outstanding'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans told Radio Sheffield that a lot of players played exceptionally well in the three-nil win over Stevenage this afternoon.

Claude Davis started his first game since mid-September this afternoon after being out with injury and I think it was the best I've seen him play in a Millers shirt. He was booked early on for a clumsy challenge I suppose you could call it and he could very well have shied away from tackles for the rest of the game. But he didn't and he had an exceptionally good game. And he scored the second goal which was a fine goal, getting above the home 'keeper and firmly heading the ball into the net.

Speaking about Claude Davis the Millers Boss said, 'When we found out that Francois Zoko was playing then Claude Davis was always going to play which is why he didn't play at Hartlepool.

'I thought the big man was superb. He took ten minutes to get going but when he did I don`t think he missed a header, I don`t think he missed a challenge and he was outstanding.`
