'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Millers Have A Tough Month

Rotherham United have a tough month from now until the start of next year.

Starting tomorrow the Millers have an FA Cup game followed by a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Fleetwood on Tuesday. Then it's back to the league and two Saturday games followed by a Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday scenario - plus there could (though we aren't really thinking this!) be an FA Cup replay to fit in somewhere along the way.

'It's a tough month,' the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield, but it's a month we look forward too.

'There are some fantastic games coming up. We've got the FA Cup on Saturday and the Northern semi-final of the JPT on Tuesday, then we go down to Bristol City and come home to Wolves, then go to Bradford and Port Vale then back home against Coventry and then, hopefully, the next round of the FA Cup. And aren't' they the games we all want to take part in? Absolutely.

'From players point of view you want to play in big games and be part of something special and from a management point of view it's great.

'I think players would always rather play than train and as long as we've got healthy competition between our squad that normally attains performance levels and keeps them high.

'I always pick my team, with consultation with my staff, based on what my feeling is towards form and who's doing well and who's not. So the players who sign for Rotherham United know there are no favourites here and they get picked quite honestly which we will continue to do. So, it's up to them to produce the performances if they want to play in the bulk of these games.'
