'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Skipper 'We've Had A Great Calendar Year'

Rotherham United skipper Craig Morgan said he was disappointed after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Rochdale on Saturday.

Speaking to MillersPlayer after the two-one loss the Welsh International said, 'We aren't pleased with what happened. We've had a great run of results lately but Rochdale came and did a good job on us so credit must go to them.

'We had chances but I think it would have been an injustice if we`d gone in more than one goal up at half-time. In my opinion a draw would have been a fair result. I don`t think we were on our A game today and naturally we missed the loan players who couldn't play because, more than likely, they`d have been on the team sheet but you do need to use your squad over a season.`

After playing probably the best game for many years last week against Gillingham Craig was asked if he was a bit 'down in the dumps` after Saturday`s performance. 'No two games are the same so you can`t get too excited or be too down in the dumps. Every week`s different. People see you beat someone four-one one week and expect you to win again four-nil but that doesn`t happen. You've got to keep a steady flow, keep calm and, at the end of the day, the league table won`t lie.

'You can`t just look at today`s game and think everything`s been a failure. Alright, we`re out of the FA Cup. This time last year we were lingering outside the play-offs in League Two. So we`ve had a great calendar year and I think we`ve come such a long way and people have to realise how quickly this has all happened.`

Craig refused to comment on the officials on Saturday saying, 'I think what went on today was there to be seen.`
