'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View From The Opposition - Bristol City

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans thought that his team should have been 'out of sight' going into the half-time break against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Meanwhile the Robins new Manager Steve Cotterill thought it was a game of two halves.

Speaking to Radio Bristol after the Millers two-one win, the Bristol City Boss said, 'It was a bit disappointing to go behind on two minutes because we had the ball for the first minute and fifty seconds. But I thought the team responded well to the chat we had at half-time. We switched things round a little bit and went a bit more attacking so, all in all, it was a good reaction but a disappointing result.

'I thought Rotherham were quite direct in the first half and that we dealt with that OK but it was second balls that we didn't mop up quick enough.

'We had enough time to get back in the game but we wasted forty-five minutes today and we only tried to lift our tempo after we'd scored. We passed the ball well enough in the second half but not quick enough.

'That tells me that with a bit of belief and a bit of confidence we can start the game with a quicker tempo because we can't afford to start next week the way we started today.'
