'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans Is Only Looking Up

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says it is no surprise to him that the Millers go into today`s clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers in sixth place in League One.

The Millers Boss told The Star that he actually thinks his team should be higher up the league.

'Our first objective was to be challenging to be in the play-off group and then to be in it,` Steve said, 'It`s excellent what has been achieved so far but we want to go higher. We are sixth and I am only looking up not down and I said before we went to Bristol City last week that we want to claw back some of those above us.`

To be honest there weren't many people who I spoke to or read about said that they thought the Millers would struggle in League One this season although, myself, I did say (and still say) that if we finish anywhere in the top half of the table I think we`ll have done well.

So, do I think we are punching above our weight? No, I don`t. I've been to all the home games so far this season and only missed a couple of away games and, to be honest, I've seen nothing out there that I've thought, 'oh yes they are much better than us` - but, then again, we have Wolves this afternoonů.

Well let's face it that's all you have ever done has a club and he has a manager, win, lose or draw today you will always be nothing more than a league two club punching above your weight in league one.

I expect a lot of people will think like that too johnwolf. Whenever we've been in this league or in the Championship before I've always thought we've been lucky to be/stay there but with Steve Evans and Tony Stewart in charge of the club I really do think we can start to believe that we 'should' be up there with the big boys. Of course this is only my opinion
