'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Evans 'Players Showed Character'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said that yesterday`s Boxing Day win away to Bradford City was 'thoroughly deserved`.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the one-nil victory, the Millers Boss said, 'With all the chances we had, on another day, we might have really embarrassed them (Bradford). Their goalkeeper made two or three great saves and there are chances that, when we look back, we will say we could have done better but our group of players when out and showed character today.

'We've restricted them today. Adam Collin made a good save from Thommo (Garry Thompson) in the first half and Nahki Wells is a first class player but you wouldn't have thought that against the Rotherham defenders today. My boys stood up to the challenge and if we had gone away with any other than three points it would have been a sad day.

'The Bradford City and Millers fans created an atmosphere that was top drawer today.

'We got the three points but we don`t have a lot of time to enjoy them because we`ve got to get ready for a real tough trip to Port Vale.`
