'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Ref Watch v Crewe

Keith Hill from Hertfordshire

This will be the eleventh time that Keith has been in charge of a Millers game, the last time being at Southend last season. Kevan Hurst put the home side in front at Roots Hall on seventy-three minutes with Johnny Mullins getting the Millers a point with a goal two minutes from time.

Keith was in the middle for our game at The Den in January 2007 when goals from Neil Harris, Chris, Zebroski and two from Darren Byfield gave Millwall a four-nil win. Keith sent off Millers midfielder Justin Cochrane eight minutes from time for a second yellow card offence.

The most memorable game that Keith and the Millers was involved in was the first game of the 2002/3 season and also at the Den. The Millers came away emphatic winners on that day of course with Darren Byfield getting four goals against his former side. Martin McIntosh and Chris Sedgwick added to the tally to make it a six-nil away win for Rotherham United.

He will also be remembered with fondness (well as much as referee can be) by Millers fans for the time in 2002 when he refereed a match at Hillsborough. Alan Lee put Rotherham ahead with Shefki Kuqi equalising twenty minutes later. Then in time added on Richie Barker sent the travelling fans wild when he put the ball in the Wednesday net to give the Millers the win.

Like the last time he was in charge of a Millers game the first time we met Keith was also at Roots Hall back in September 1998 when the Shrimpers won three-nil. The only card shown that day was a yellow to Darren Garner.

So far this season Keith has been in charge of nineteen games and shown sixty-one yellow cards and two red cards

Running the line at the New York Stadium will be

Ian Dudley from Nottinghamshire
and
Alf Greenwood from North Yorkshire

The Fourth Official will be

Mark Jones from Nottinghamshire
