RUFC - Evans 'Players Don't Get Enough Credit'

Rotherham United fans' expectation levels are getting higher and higher. This time last season we would just have been happy to be picking up points that would eventually lead us to better things. Then we got the 'better things' by getting promoted but now we want more.

Millers Manager Steve Evans told Radio Sheffield that he doesn't think people realise what the management team and the players have done to get the club into the play-offs.

'The players certainly don't get enough credit for what they've achieved. They have absolutely been fantastic but the over all challenge is to keep us there. I think the players have embraced League One and have been tremendous.

'We are still very much in our infancy in League One and we are trying to make changes in January because there's a real chance of staying in that play-off group. I think it's just taken for granted that we'll finish in that play-off group but its one hell of an ask.

'Given what we are operating with and having just gone up to get the Millers into the play-offs this year would be a harder task than getting promoted last season.'

Yes, I think we all forget just where we were two seasons ago. I said at the start of the season if we finished mid-table then we`d done well and anything higher would be a bonus and I still feel like that.
