'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - View From The Opposition - Leyton Orient

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans said that he thought yesterday`s game was played by two good sides but thought the Millers deserved to win.

Meanwhile Orient`s Manager Russell Slade (did he really take his hat off and stamp on it in the dugout on Saturday?? said he thought it was a difficult game in difficult conditions.

The wind was swirling around the New York yesterday but, to be honest, I thought the O`s dealt with it better than we did.

Speaking to BBC London after the Millers won the game two-one with a last minute goal, Mr Slade said, 'Rotherham started well and deserved the lead but we plugged away and deservedly got back into it.

'I thought in the last fifteen minutes of the first half we were playing very well and were back in the game. There weren't too many openings for either side but we worked our way in and when Moses (Odubajo) volleyed the ball in the net it was what we deserved.

'Then in the final few seconds I don`t think we managed the game well and if you want to get promotion and be successful you have to manage the game at all times. I think the last minute of the game was probably our poorest of the entire game. It was an eagerness to try and get down the other end and try and go for the win and it`s cost us dearly.`

After the goal there was an incident when a Rotherham United supporter got on the pitch and Russell Slade commented, 'You don`t want to see that in any game and it`s something for Rotherham and their football club to look at.`
