RUFC - Evans 'Adams Fee Greatly Exaggerated'
Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans has refuted suggestions that he paid £95,000 for midfielder/winger Nicky Adams from Crawley Town.
Nicky joined the Millers on the final day of the transfer window, although the papers didn't go through in time for him to make his debut against Leyton Orient on Saturday, after making it clear that he wouldn't be signing a new contract with the Red Devils.
With rumours going round that the Millers had paid just under six figures for the twenty-seven year old the Millers Boss said, 'It was nothing near that.'
Speaking to The Star Steve said, 'Nicky adds greatly to what we've got. He can play in various positions but we see him as a wide man.
'We spoke about needing real competition in that area of the pitch and we've got that now. If you turn up every week and your shirt is on the peg then you`re not as effective as when you look over and see a Nicky Adams sitting there. You might not be as confident of playing as normal.'
Nicky could make his debut next weekend when the Millers travel to the Colchester Community Stadium to take on Colchester United.
