'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Adams 'It Has Been Frustrating'

Rotherham United striker Nicky Adams admits that he`s had a bit of a frustrating time since joining the Millers from Crawley at the end of January.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star the former Welsh Under twenty-one international said, 'I've come from being the best player at Crawley to joining a squad with a lot of good players and being on the subs bench every game.

'It has been frustrating but the team have been winning which makes it difficult to make any changes. No-one likes being a substitute but if you get on then you want to make an impact. If you start then it`s up to you to keep the shirt. Up to now it`s been a case of being patient.`

The twenty-seven year old came off the bench on Saturday and scored the goal which gave the Millers a point and he carried on, 'It was great to see it go in and I`m glad it was an important one because it kept our unbeaten run going.`

The goal, which was his first for Rotherham, was yet another late one in the Millers season with Nicky saying, 'There`s a never-die-spirit about the lads and when you keep scoring late like we do, then you believe you always can do.`

The Millers seem to have an abundance of strikers at the moment with Nicky, Alex Revell, Wes Thomas, Haris Vuckic, Tom Hitchcock and Kieran Agard. So, as Nicky says, when you get your chance you have to try and keep the shirt. Trouble is, with all those strikers and the position we are in I can't see Steve Evans changing the team about too much. Which means not everyone is going to get a chance are they?
