RUFC - Prings 'We Can Be Predictable'

RUFC - Prings 'We Can Be Predictable'

Rotherham United midfielder Ben Pringle thinks, at times, the Millers can be too predictable.

Speaking to David Beddows of the Rotherham Advertiser the twenty-four year old mused over this fact saying, 'When we put the ball up-field when it works it works and when it doesn`t we don`t seem to have a plan B. This is a concern because we are going to go into the play-offs with one way to play.

'When the ball is going is going up to Alex Revell and the flick-ons aren't coming down or there`s no-one on the second balls we need to figure out how to dictate the game and how to move the ball when teams are sitting off and letting us attack. We have to find a way of breaking teams down when we become predictable.`

Well, Prings, I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Time and time again we try and get the ball onto Alex Revell`s head for him to knock it down - and, as you say, it`s great when it happens and we can follow through. But teams do get wise to us doing this and they find a way to stop us - then we seem at a loss as to what to do. For me that`s something that has to be sorted out on the training ground - plan A, B and probably a plan C as well to keep the other teams on the back foot and keep their managers/coaches head scratching.

'Our way of playing seems to work better away from home,` Prings carried on, 'because we go and attack when we play away.`

Asked about the away game at Peterborough tomorrow, the former Derby player said, 'It will be an interesting game.`
