RUFC - South Yorkshire United Tonight?

It`s not very often that the Manager of your football club openly admits that he hopes his fans will be willing another team on - but that`s exactly what Millers Boss Steve Evans is expecting will happen this evening when Sheffield United take on Brentford at Bramall Lane.

Brentford, who suffered a three-nil defeat at the New York Stadium a week ago and only managed a point against Oldham in a nil-nil draw at the weekend, are sitting in second place in League One going into tonight`s game. Rotherham are two places and five points behind so a loss for the Bees today could help the Millers believe they could have a 'go` at an automatic promotion place.

Speaking to Les Payne of The Star Steve Evans said, 'I`ll be at Bramall Lane tonight and I`ll be kicking and heading every ball hoping for a United win. And I`m sure there will be Millers fans going to cheer the Blades on and those that aren't there will be willing them on.

'But are they good enough to beat a quality side like Brentford? I`m not so sure but what I am sure of is that Nigel (Clough) has done a fantastic job and if he could get them to the play-offs it would be unbelievable.

'And strange things happen at this time of the season where nerves can affect teams at the top - and, if I were in second spot I`d be nervous.`
