RUFC - Rayns 'We've Got Nice Blend In Team'

Rotherham United`s Assistant Manager Paul Raynor says that the Millers team have a 'real solidity` about them.

Speaking to Rob Staton of Radio Sheffield Rayns said, 'We are playing well. We are attack minded and there is a real solidity about them and the defending side of our game has been looking good too. Your defensive shape is massively important and I think Richie Smallwood has come in and helped here because he is a little bit more of a defensive minded midfield player whereas Lee (Frecklington) is adventurous and wants to be in the box and create and take chances.

'We have always prided ourselves on having a hard working team and the players are really buying into how effective it is if they do things well. We are full of energy which is the way we like our teams to be and the boys are seeing the benefits from that.

'We've got a nice blend in the team. We've got Alex (Revell) who gives us a good option in case we want to hit the longer ball who can hold up play and is very good in the air. But we certainly aren't long ball like some manager`s say we are. It`s certainly not the case when we have the likes of Pringle, Frecklington and Adams because they are ball players who work very hard for the team with and without the ball. We've got a nice mixture and we can play both ways which is working well for us.

'We are in good form and we`re playing well. It`s just a case of keeping their feet on the ground because we`ve a difficult game away at Gillingham who are well organised and has the makings of a good game.

'I think we need three points on Saturday to mathematically make sure we are in the play-offs and then we`ll set ourselves little targets but the first one is to make sure we are in the play-offs. Then we`ll look to be either third or fourth to make sure we get the second leg at home. And when we`ve done that we`ll look to see where we are and if we can challenge the top two. We could catch Brentford if we win all our games and they slip up - you never say never. We've had a good season so far but nothings won yet.`
