Rotherham United`s Assistant Manager Paul Raynor said that it`s down to good scouting that the Millers have done so well with their loan players this season.
The Millers have a number of players on loan at the moment - James Tavernier, Haris Vuckic, Tom Hitchcock, Miles Addison and Richie Smallwood - and Rayns says they've all contributed to the team.
Speaking to Radio Sheffield Rayns said, 'As soon as James joined us he said he wanted to stop until the end of the season. He`d had loan spells before for a month here and a month there but you can`t really get to know your team mates like that. I think this is the first time he`s been on a loan spell and played every week and playing very, very well.
'But all the loan players have contributed. Miles Addison has come in for games and done very well, Tom Hitchcock and Haris have scored goals and Richie Smallwood is fundamental to how we are playing at the moment. They've all played a massive part in what we are trying to do and they've integrated into the squad with the other boys fantastically well.
'We give them a nice environment and a hard working environment and get them incredibly fit and Academy football isn't the same as playing League football.
Asked if there was a chance to get Tavs back next year (he has another year to run on his contract at Newcastle - (Ed Note - you know, I look at Tavs and Vuckic and think 'with the way the Magpies are playing at the moment, why are those two players here with us?` Not that I'm complaining!)) - Rayns said, 'We've love to have James back here but it depends on Newcastle.
'And it`s all down to good scouting, having good contacts and knowing who`s available and who`s not. When we got the two guys in from Newcastle people were asking us 'how have you got those two` well the Gaffer`s got bags and bags of contacts and we have a good scouting network.
I think that`s great if loan players can come and feel like they are part of the squad and that has to be down to the Gaffer in my eyes who has always said 'if they don`t fit into the dressing room they won`t come/stay`. It seems that all the lads who are here on loan at the moment have done that and fitted in very well.
