RUFC - Best Substitution Ever??!!

RUFC - Best Substitution Ever??!!

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans told Radio Sheffield that he thinks the Tom Hitchcock substitution is possibly the best he`s ever made.

Tom replaced Nicky Adams, who in himself could have had a hat-trick, on the hour mark and proceeded to score three goals in under twenty-five minutes.

'Sometimes you get your substitutions dreadfully wrong,` the Gaffer said, 'but we put young Tom Hitchcock on and that`s got to be the best of all time.

'We put him on fairly early in the match because we thought we needed a goal. One or two members on my bench wanted someone else to go on but I thought Tom looked particularly sharp on Monday in the reserves and also in training on Friday and it was actually a tough call not to start him.

'And what a fantastic hat-trick with three well executed goals and he goes home with the match ball.

'Tom is a smashing lad but we don`t always need smashing lads, we need warriors. Tom and I have had a couple of chats recently and since then he`s looked really bright.`

Best substitution ever? No arguments from me!

'Super super sub, super super sub, super super sub, super Tommy Hitchcock'
