RUFC - Evans 'Two Big Games This Week'

After yesterday`s roller-coaster of a game the Millers Manager Steve Evans says that Rotherham United are going to go to the wire.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the Millers Boss said, 'We've got another two mountains of games in the space of five or six days.

'We know how tough it`s going to be at Sheffield United. Nigel (Clough) has done a magnificent job there and they will start as big favourites. But I think the five thousand Millers will help create a good atmosphere in our favour.

'Then we host another club from Yorkshire on live television on Friday night so it`s another big game.

'Now it`s about recovery for the players and making sure we are fresh and we go to Bramall Lane ready to dig in.`

With yesterday`s win the Millers are now guaranteed a place in the play-offs with the Gaffer saying, 'There will be a lot of manager`s up and down the country who are disappointed. Their judgement at the start of the season was rubbish when they said we`d fight to stay up.

'Can we look at the top two? No we can`t. We just have to go to Bramall Lane on Tuesday night and we`ll be fighting in the trenches and trying to get three points and see where we go.

'Thanks to our Chairman we`ve assembled a good squad and we get incredible backing from our tremendous supporters.`

It seems that Steve Evans wants to keep his players, and possibly his fans, feet on the ground - but surely we can just keep having a peek at the top two and keeping an eye on what's happening up there....
