RUFC - No Love Lost Between Evans And Barker

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans and former Miller and now Assistant at MK Dons Richie Barker had a few words in the tunnel after the draw at the New York yesterday.

Evans told Radio Sheffield, 'There were a few words said in the tunnel after the game with their management team where they reflected they don`t think we should be in the play-offs but they thought that at the start of the season as well. And their Assistant Manager, Richie Barker, said that I left them a shambles when he was manager of Crawley, well I wonder what those Crawley Town players think. And for him to throw that old chestnut out from a manager who has been sacked from two clubs because he`s been rubbish, well.

'When you get personal and say 'I spent a year managing the rubbish you left behind` well that Crawley Town team was far from rubbish.`

It all seems a bit handbags this doesn't it. Didn't Steve Evans left Crawley Town on the verge of promotion? So when they got that surely it's up to the person who takes over to keep them there? Our play definitely wasn't at it's best yesterday and perhaps MK Dons were the better side for spells in the game but to turn round and harp back to something that's happened a couple of years ago is a little bit petty isn't it?

Or is it a case of 'we should be there instead of you?' If that's it then we've got to where we are by getting more points than MK Dons - simple.
