RUFC - Boss 'Revs Got Beaten Up'

RUFC - Boss 'Revs Got Beaten Up'

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans was asked about the physical game after yesterday`s two-all draw at home to MK Dons.

'I think Alex Revell got beaten up,` the Milers Boss told Radio Sheffield, 'and he was floored on three or four occasions around the box.

'Then the referee gave a yellow card for the challenge on James Tavernier and he (Dele Alli) shouldn't be allowed back on a pitch for three or four games. I've looked at it on a still-frame and its thigh high, late, two feet off the ground as dangerous as you can get. Then I look at Richie Smallwood`s last week which is a nothing challenge and he get`s a red card. And I`m disappointed with it.

'I've said to the referee (Graham Salisbury) that I think he allowed some challenges to go unpunished early doors which set a very low benchmark in which to give us fouls. I think he had a poor game and although we don`t need to be over protected when there are fouls we need them to be given.`

In the end the MK Dons had four players booked and one sent off - although it wasn't Alli, who most of us in our stand, agreed shouldn't have been there to start the second half.
