'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Two Goal Hero 'It's Unbelievable'

Rotherham United's two goal hero Alex Revell seemed to think he was dreaming after the win that saw the Millers promoted on Sunday.

'I'm just going round asking people what's happened because it's just a dream. I've scored two goals at Wembley and we are going to the Championship. It's just unbelievable. It's a boyhood dream.

'We didn't have a great start to the game going two-nil down,' the striker told Radio Sheffield after the win on Sunday, 'and I think any other team would have been beaten. But we've just shown the character that has got us here that got us back into the game.'

Speaking about his goals, Revs said, 'I'm more pleased with the first one because I don't get enough of them. I've scored a few from outside the box this year and not as many inside the box as I should have done so it was really pleasing to get that. And it was an important goal because it got us back into the game. I knew when the second one came to me what I wanted to do and maybe I haven't done that enough to show people what I'm about.

'I've had a lot of doubters and I've proved a lot of people wrong today. The Gaffer and everyone here has always stood by me and it means a lot.'

Having to go off with cramp before the end of the game, Revs admits he couldn't watch the penalty shoot-out saying, 'I was so disappointed that I came off. I so wanted to be part of it. Paul Raynor and I watched it in the dressing rooms and Adam (Collin) showed what a genius he is.

'I still can't believe what's happening. We are going to Fulham away, we are going to Norwich away it's just so unbelievable.

'It's just an amazing feeling.'

I've heard the doubters too Revs and never understood them. I am proud that you are a Rotherham United player and long may you stay with this club and in this team. We could all have cried for you when we realised you couldn't carry on and had to go off on Sunday. You have always believed that the Millers would get there and most of us have always believed in you.
