RUFC - Evans Surprised To Get Striker For Free

RUFC - Evans Surprised To Get Striker For Free

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans has told the Official Site that he has tried to sign Febian Brandy before.

'He`s a talented player and I`ve tried to sign him a couple of times,` the Millers Boss admitted.

The striker started last season playing for Sheffield United but after just thirteen games had got two red and two yellow cards under his belt and went out on loan to Walsall for who he appeared against the Millers in the one-all draw at the New York Stadium.

Midway through a two-year contract on Wednesday the Blades released the striker and Steve Evans jumped in and signed him up.

'It was a complete surprise to see him available for no cost,` Evans carried on, 'and given the admiration that all my staff and I have for him, we in turn moved quickly to add him to the squad and I know he will welcome the opportunity to fight for a starting shirt.`

To be honest of all the players I`ve seen linked with the Millers the signing of Febian was a bit of a surprise to me and I know there have already been rumblings on the social media sites about the signing - but, and it`s a big but, let`s not forget who Steve Evans has fetched in since coming the Millers and how they have played for him. We know the Gaffer doesn`t suffer fools gladly and I think we all know that it will have been made clear to the Manchester born lad what is expected of him both on and off the pitch.
