'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Chairman On His Happiest Football Day

Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart told Paul Davis of The Star that his greatest moment in football so far was in May at Wembley.

Mr Stewart saved the Millers when he took them out of administration and then to play in Sheffield for four years before building them a superb new stadium right in the heart of town.

And now he`s helped take the club up from League Two to One and that day in May he saw them promoted to the Championship.

Saying he was in his own little world during the penalty shoot-out the Millers Chairman said, 'I didn't realise it hinged on that penalty and only Adam Collin jumping up and raising his arms made me realise we were promoted.`

Admitting is was a shock to be two-down at half-time Mr Stewart carried on, 'I went over to the Leyton Orient chairman, Barry Hearn, and said: 'You've had a good first half, Barry. A great first goal and you`re two up. He turned round and said he was sure there were more goals to come and I turned away from him muttering 'I hope there is`.`

And saying that Mr Stewart said he was never anxious saying, 'I had this positive feeling that we had a chance.`
