RUFC - Millers Have Smallwood Bid Rejected?

It is thought that Rotherham United have had a bid rejected for former loanee Richie Smallwood.

The twenty-three year old midfielder came on loan to the Millers in January from his parent club Middlesbrough playing twenty times including the play-off final at Wembley where he took Rotherham's fifth penalty which helped them to victory over Leyton Orient.

At the end of last season Middlesbrough extended Richie's contract by a year.

Sky Sports are saying that 'Boro Manager Aitor Karanka wants to give Richie a chance to push for a first team place at the Riverside by giving him game time in their pre-season friendly games.

It is thought that Steve Evans will make another bid for Redcar born player.
