Ben Pringle

Newcastle Born Ben originally played for local side Wallsend Boys Club before playing Youth football with West Bromwich Albion. He then went on to play for Newcastle Blue Star and Morpeth before joining Ilkeston Town where he spent a year.

In May 2009 Ben moved to Derby County with his first start for the Rams being in a League Cup game against Rotherham. He skippered Derby Reserves and in 2009/10 was named their Young Player of the Year. Having a loan spell with Torquay the midfielder went back to Pride Park determined to win his place back in the first team but, despite having signed a new contract in February in the summer of 2011 he was told he could look for another club.

In June 2011 Prings joined the Millers and after an initial good start was mysteriously left on the sidelines by then Manager Andy Scott but came back into his own when Steve Evans took over at Rotherham.

Prings' first game for the Millers was in League Two at Don Valley against Oxford when he came off the bench for the final minutes of the game.

His first goal was in a two-one win away at Crewe ten days later.

Being a pivotal part of Steve Evans` squad last season Ben played fifty-five times including the League One Play-Off Final at Wembley taking, and scoring, the Millers third penalty in the shoot-out win.
