RUFC - Evans Still Looking For New Faces

RUFC - Evans Still Looking For New Faces

Rotherham United Manager Steve Evans says that he is talking to 'two or three` prospective new players.

'We will say we are going to try and do some business but that business will remain private for now,` the Millers Boss told Paul Davis of The Star.

Saying he was pleased with the business already done the Gaffer carried on, 'People wiser than me have said, six or seven games in you will be having thoughts about individuals. Some will be positive and will have taken to this level with no issues but some will not be so good and will not have taken to this level. The question we ask then is 'can they get to this level`.`

From past experience we know that the Gaffer won't think twice about moving someone out who isn't up to scratch whether it be for good or for that player to get experience. Of the summer signings we've seen I think they all seem to fit in and the players who have played together for a year or more know what to expect from each other and have settled into the higher division. I've heard say that fitness in the Championship could be the difference between a team doing well or failing but I think all Millers fans know that, if nothing else, our lads will be fit.

Steve went on to talk about Kieran Agard saying it was his decision not to move to Leeds but also had a word for other clubs 'interested` in the Millers striker. 'As far as I`m concerned the rest of the interested clubs can`t meet the valuation and so are never going to get him. We don`t need to sell him and if he runs down his value then he will still be treated with respect and picked to play if it`s right to select him.`
