Luton look to Millers star

Luton are determined to bring in a number of new faces in the January transfer window.

The Hatters managed to snap up Dean Kiely on loan from Portsmouth last month but assistant boss Brian Stein was disappointed not to capture any others.

And although Luton managed to end a disastrous run of eight straight defeats with victory against Preston on Saturday, Stein knows the squad must be strengthened this winter.

'We need midfielders, another forward and another centre-back,' Stein told Sky Sports on Thursday.

'We hope we can add them during the window.

'We tried to sign four players on the deadline for emergency loans last month, but we managed only one.

'We have our targets for January, and we think those players want to come to Luton.'

Rotherham midfielder Lee Williamson, currently sidelined with an injury picked up in an FA Cup defeat at Peterborough, spoke to Luton in August and is once again reported to be one of their transfer targets for January.

I'll be sad to see him go, but fortunately we're not doing too badly without him.
