Crucial? Asks Knill

Manager, Alan Knill, was upset with both the media and sections of the crowd after Saturday`s 2-0 defeat away to Cheltenham.

'According to the Press, 'he told the Star, 'all our games have been crucial. How was this game crucial? Crucial does not come till the end of the season. When you start the season with minus ten the realism is that you are going to be down there and it really annoyed me when people said we should have gone to Cheltenham and won, just like that.

'You are asking if the team are up for a fight. They have been up for a fight for the previous 21 games - so yes they are. I expect them to be up for a fight till the end of the season. What a ridiculous question. We have always been down at the bottom and knew we had a long haul.

'We weren`t happy with some parts of our game and sometimes the quality wasn`t there but the effort was. People pay good money and travel a long way following the team and they will get upset when we lose.`

It is also understood that Knill was upset with some of the travelling supporters remarks made to the players when they went over to applaud their fans.

I think Knilly should understand the fans frustration after such a lacklustre performance.....although there was a lot of animosity aimed at Will Hoskins.

In all the match reports I've read, Rotherham never got one mention, good, bad or indifferent. It was like we weren't there!
