Competition to face Millers

Rotherham United's next opponents Swansea City have given Sylvain Meslien more time to impress by awarding the left-back with another month's deal.

Meslien, who joined last month after a brief trial period, was substituted after just 36 minutes of his debut in the 3-1 FA Cup win at Darlington.

He missed the next two games and played only the last four minutes of Saturday's 5-0 win over Carlisle.

The 26-year-old Frenchman faces competition from on-loan Marcus Painter for the left-back slot against the Millers at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Swansea extended Painter's stay from Birmingham for a second month last week.

Swansea had a stinker against us then take Carlisle for 5. Real up + down team at present.

yeah Painter will definately be starting. Meslian will slowly be bedded in according to our manager. our away form is crap but i think we'll put in another good performance on sat as confidence will be high.

I was rather hoping you had used all your goals up last week Kevin - no such luck I don't expect?
