Ex-Miller promoted at Huddersfield

Former Millers player John Dungworth has been promoted from Reserve Coach to the same role with the first team, following the departure by mutual consent of Assistant Manager Terry Yorath, who leaves after 3 years working with Manager Peter Jackson.
Huddersfield have failed to win in their last 8 games and currently occupy 17th position in League One.

Rotherham-born Dungworth (51) took a long time before he turned out for his home town club who became his ninth club in a career which saw him feature both in attack and defence.

He served as an apprentice at Huddersfield Town but it wasn't until he joined his fifth team that he really began to make his mark scoring at an average of just over one every two games for Aldershot.

John moved on to Rotherham United via Shrewsbury and Mansfield in 1984,but in his time at Millmoor, he was switched with great success to a role as a defender after netting only 11 goals in 60 league appearances spending his last three seasons in the back line where his ability to read the game held him in good stead.
