'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mullin on the Millers

Former fans favourite John Mullin spoke out in yesterday's programme about his old club.

The 31 year old midfielder told Tranmere's matchday programme, 'i had four good years at Rotherham, we were always underdogs, and it is nice to see them holding their own this season.'

Mullin signed for Rotherham for £150.000 from Burnley in October 2001 and said of his former manager, 'Alan Knill has done a really good job. We hit good form there towards the end of last season and he has carried it on with a new squad this season.'

Mullin added, 'Sometimes it can take the pressure off when everyone is writing you off, they went into this season with minus 10 points and people were saying they had no chance, but you can get a good team spirit going from fighting against the odds'.
'They dont get big gates, but the people in the area are passionate about their Football'.

Glad in a way he didn't come to us, as we got Hoolahan instead.

Mullin is the only one of the three ex players at Tranmere who I would have back.
