'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Millers talk with Henderson

Rotherham United's new loan signing from Norwich, Ian Henderson has been speaking to the Rotherham Star about the move and his hopes for his time at Millmoor.

'Yes, it's going to be good to get first-team football. I've been out for three months and I just need to get my match fitness up,' The former England youth international said.
'Funnily enough, I did get injured at Rotherham, but that's in the past now - I'm going to look to the future and, hopefully, score some goals.

'I'm just like any footballer - you just want a sequence of games when you can start scoring goals and move on. I've not been on loan before and I was speaking to the boys in the Norwich changing room about it and it's going to be a weird occasion for myself, but I'm ready to take it.'

The Thetford born striker has signed on a short term loan to start with and He says 'It's for one month initially and we'll see how it goes. I'm still contracted at Norwich until the end of the summer and I'm gong to see the contract out'.

'Why did I decide to go to Rotherham? I decided because the manager said I'd be playing football - and I'd be playing as a striker'.
'That's important for me. That's where I was taught to play while I was at the academy at Norwich and where I feel most comfortable. I've spoken to the manager (Alan Knill) on the phone and I was really impressed with what he had to say.'

Henderson already knows one of his new team-mates which will enable him to settle in quicker 'I know Scott Wiseman from when we played in Toulon a couple of summers agowith England in the Under-20s,' he added.
