'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Knill 'I am passionate about club`

Rotherham United manager, Alan Knill, has told The Star that he hopes to add to his squad this week, though it could only be loan signings.

'I hope to bring someone in - I am very hopeful but sometimes other things get in the way and you get sidetracked,` he said. When asked what 'other things` he declined to answer.

Knill played the two new players against Chesterfield on Saturday, Toumani Diagouraga played in midfield and Ian Henderson played up front partnering Delroy Facey. Unfortunately, both Eugen Bopp and Richie Partridge had to be substituted during the second half with injuries - Bopp has recently had a virus and felt unwell and Partridge had a back injury. This meant the midfield then consisted of four players under twenty-one.

'I can understand the fans frustration,` said Knill after the defeat to Chesterfield, 'but we have to believe in ourselves and our ability. I am passionate about this football club and passionate about my players and when we don`t perform it is disappointing.`

More new signings are imperative just now. I thought we had a very strong side out Saturday, but it was the worst performance for some time by most of the team.
