Knill On O'Grady

Rotherham United have beaten off a number of clubs to sign young striker Chris O'Grady from Leicester City.

'I am delighted to sign him,'Alan Knill told the Star,'he is strong, powerful and with pace. He is ideal for what we want. Everyone has been after him. He is a lad who wants to do well and is the right age.

'When we lost Will Hoskins and Dave Hibbert this lad was top of my list of targets, but I was not sure we would be able to get him.'

The talks to sign the tall striker went on well into last night and it finished off what had been a busy day for Knill. In the afternoon he had been to Hillsborough to see Wednesday Reserves in their 4-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest and then he went to Wigan to watch their goaless draw with Sheffield United.
