RUFC - Stewart And Warnock Parted On Good Terms

Rotherham United Chairman Tony Stewart told David Beddows of The Rotherham Advertiser that he still keeps in contact with former Manager Neil Warnock.

'We parted on good terms,' Mr Stewart said, 'and if Neil wanted to do another year at Rotherham and threw his hat in we'd certainly look at it, we'd be foolish not to.'

Neil became Millers Manager on 11 February last year, his first game being a goalless draw at home to Blackburn which saw both Richard Wood and Joe Mattock sent-off and the club languishing in the bottom three. But with a nil-nil draw at Wolves, and with two games to go, he propelled the Millers up the table with enough points to keep them in the Championship for another year.

With most Millers fans expecting Neil to stop on in his role as Manager it was a big disappointment when he declined. In October he joined Cardiff.

'Neil has a high regard for Rotherham and is a friend of Rotherham United,' Mr Stewart carried on, 'and he makes that known. He has always said if there's anything he can do then he would help us. It's a good friendship and we're in a good place with Neil.

'He may be gone but he's not forgotten by us.'
