RUFC - Newell 'We Should Have Got Something Last Week'

Rotherham United midfielder Joe Newell thinks the Millers deserved something from last weekends game at Wolves. And although I thought it was a poor performance from both sides, the Millers did have chances, particularly two from striker Danny Ward.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Rotherham Advertiser Joe said, 'The Wolves result was hard to take. There's been times when we've played poorly and deserved to lose but we definitely deserved something this time.

'No one is sicker than Wardy. He knows if one of those chances had gone in it's a different game and Semi (Ajayi) could have nicked one at the other end but the ball came too quick to him and it went over.

'It was a more solid away performance from us against a Wolves side who I think were there for the taking and, on another day, we might have come away with something.

'And we can take something from Saturday into this weekend. QPR have been on a good run and it's going to be tough but we're not going to get these types of fixtures next season so we need to enjoy it while we're here and try to get something before the International break.'

Going on to talk about the Manager's job, Joe said, 'If Warney got the job then all the lads would be thrilled.'

South Yorkshire Bragging Rights Go To The Millers

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.

It was a scrappy start to the game and although Rovers
